This is my lastest completed pet portrait in oils of Boston Terrier Bella.

The size of this panting is 12″X12″, so I’ve included as much detail as I could for a portrait of this size. All oil portraits are painted on professionally stretched gallery-wrapped Italian Linen canvas and so is this one as well.

The original is awesome, I’m very happy with it! It’s still drying and I’m waiting to “oil-out” the surface in order to bring out all those dark colors.

That simple process really makes a huge difference as darks otherwise tend to get dull when dry even though I use walnut oil when painting.

Unfortunately when I updated the system software on my computer the scanner won’t work anymore. The software for my scanner should get updated as well, however there is no new version available since my scanner is old. I still didn’t buy a new scanner, so I had to photograph the final result instead.
