Today I continued to work on Maize’s oil portrait. I had so much fun painting her and so I totally forgot to photograph a stage in between! I blocked in the entire canvas and painted the edges as well. Before I even started to paint, I premixed my color palette. I do this especially if I will paint a scenic background, to create color harmony. Perhaps that’s why the time went by so quickly and I managed to paint this much toady!?
Even though a non-artist perhaps won’t see what’s it all about at first glance, it still looks right to any viewer. The oil painting is now prepared for next stage, which will prepare Mazie for detail work. That layer takes longer to paint as it’s the hardest one, so I will upload next stage on Monday.
