The Scan of Viruta’s Oil Painting
Yesterday I completed the oil portrait of Viruta and today I scanned the final result. Viruta is a lovely little dog painted in a winter scenery in size 12″x16″ on Italinan linen canvas. I scanned this painting in three parts and puzzled the pieces together in Photoshop and worked hard on editing the scan in order to make a digital image as close to the original as possible, however the scan still dosen’t do it any justice. The original is perfectly balanced when it comes to colors, values and softness. I love the final outcome on this portrait, let’s hope my client will love it too.
