Fifth Stage of Horses in Oil

I have painted next layer of the background and entire next stage of the camera man. Only the camera took 6 hours to do, but it’s still not completed. I had so much fun painting the camera man, which is the person who commissioned this painting by the way. It was far from boring I might say, quite a challenge and I love challenges.

So, the background is now nicely prepared for the last layer of paint and the camera man along with his camera and backpack only need some color and light alternations. So, the next stage is to continue working on the horses. That will take a while since it’s a big painting.

Stage Four Of Horses

So after four days of not painting at all, I have finally completed stage four of the horses in oil. The two front horses are wet, that’s why they shine through the camera lense from that angle. Now, next stage is to paint another layer of the background, but that will have to wait until Monday, since I will start with the pencil drawing of Hutch tomorrow. I will draw Hutch over the weekend too. Now when looking at the photos, I think I need a tan . It’s a pity my son’s soccer game today is so late in the evening, because it’s such a nice sunny day today. Well, well, maybe next time.

Next stage of Horses in Oil

So I have blocked in first layer of the background and worked quite a lot on the cameraman. Next stage will be to paint the next layer of the horses in the foreground. That will take some time to do since it’s a large painting, but I will do my best to complete stage four next week. This photo is not a good representation of the actual colors of the painting, the lighting conditions here in the studio are not the best at the moment.

Second Stage of Horses in Oil

It has been quite some time ago I posted any news on the huge oil painting I’m currently working on. It’s because I drew the portrait in pencil of Bogart in between and after that my daughter got sick. She was home for over a week and that was pretty frustrating, surely it’s easier when people don’t have any children when they try to run a business at home . Well, nothing to do about those things… but in Monday I finally started to paint the oil painting again. It was a long time ago I blocked in the entire canvas with a thin warm color, so it really had some time to dry completely.

After that, I painted all outlines once again and blocked in the horses with the first layer of paint. Tomorrow I will block in the background and that will be fun, so I can’t wait!

Framed Portrait of Alice

This is the framed portrait of Alice in oil on linen canvas. We used a high quality gold moulding and it suits this portrait perfectly. It’s wide enough for such a big portrait and it looks really stunning here in the Studio. Hope you like it too…

Portrait in Detailed Pencil of Bogart

This is the final scan of Bogart, the Belgian Tervueren. It’s a portrait in graphite pencil of him at present and him as a puppy. This drawing was created on Fabriano 5 paper with 50% cotton. Anyway, hope you like it!

So here I am uploading the next stage of Bogart in pencil. I will continue to work on this portrait for the rest of the day and hopefully I will have a completed portrait to scan soon.

I have left the portrait of Alice and King at the framers and I will take some photos of the framed portraits and upload them to the blog as soon as I collect them.
