KATJAS WORK IN PROGRESS BLOG

So its finally online, the website template-design and logotype I created for Eubreeders.com some months ago. The final website along with the logo can be viewed at www.eubreeders.com. I let them use some of my paintings on the website in exchange for a “lifetime” advertising banner on the site. I know this website will get big and popular in future, so why not? The logotype is vector-based and the design is created with HTML, CSS and div tags, no tables.

For many months now, I have been working on a new website for Pet-Art.net. I worked on it from time to time between portrait commissions and other work I had, that’s why it took so long. Yesterday I finally uploaded it and today I spent some time correcting bigger errors. I believe that I won’t do any new websites for a very long time; I will only update the current one when I will have some spare time. The hardest thing I had to do was to create a Wordpress theme on my own, from scratch. Because I love challenges I wanted to do this and of course it looks really nice with the same look on my work in progress page (blog) as rest of my pages. Well it’s not only the same “look”, it’s the same page! I still have some minor things to add and changes in the Wordpress theme.

The entire website has a different navigation system with a menu divided in offering sections. HOME, CUSTOM PORTRAITS, ART SHOP, FRAMING, DESIGN, IN PROGRESS, ARTIST, CONTACT. In these sections you can find everything related to just that and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Read about more news on my website:

CUSTOM PORTRAITS
1. Some older portraits have been replaced by new ones.
2. More testimonials have been added and divided into sections.
3. More information can be found about my Gift Vouchers.

ART SHOP
1. This section is new and I’m now selling Fine Art Giclée prints

1. This section is new and I’m now offering professional Framing and Frames in highest quality.

New website 2010

It has been a while since I wrote in my blog, but I really struggle with time and then the blog just doesn’t seem to be in my time schedule. It’s not always visible on my website, but I’m working on many new and old projects. I have only 4 out of 30 illustrations left to do, so that’s one of the things I have quietly been working on. I’m also working on two websites that have been left aside for a while and a whole new project that’s more for my future plans which I can’t really talk about now, but it will be revealed in time. Let’s not forget about the three Business cards (including my own) that took more of my time then planned.

Well, this is one of the things I have been working on, a vector based logotype and a very simple CSS based website for Computer Renovate which is a recently opened little company in Sweden. The site is not online yet, only picture is available at this time.

Some time ago I created a vector based logotype for this kennel and now I finally uploaded their brand new website. Damjan is a breeder of long and shorthaired Chihuahuas and his life truly is all about this wonderful little dogs. The kennel is located in my motherland Slovenia. He knew exactly what kind of design he wanted for his new website, but still gave me room for my own creativity. At a later stage he will also include the web site in English.

Hi all!

I have been working on my website for a long time (about 7 months) and finally uploaded it yesterday! I have had many new websites and logotypes to create, and I’m still working with the illustrations and new pet portrait commissions, that’s why I had to work with my web site in the evenings. It took 2 hours to upload and check out errors, creating new google sitemap and looking for something I might have forgotten in the process.

I have already got some positive feedback from my visitors who already yesterday sent me emails, telling how good they think my new web site looks and how easy it is to find good information about my services. Well, I’m very happy that I put so much work into it!
 

I painted Ellie in Oils from a pretty bad reference photo and it turned out to look pretty good anyway. We didn’t want to add all grey fur she had in her last days alive so she would look a bit younger, it’s nicer this way. I was surfing the net one day before I completed this painting and I found an excellent wildlife painter! He has such great light and colours in his paintings, WOW I was impressed! Then suddenly something came back to me, I was on my way to forget some of the things I learned in art school and I suddenly remembered it all when looking at his paintings. Let’s say I had an “aha experience”…

My paintings will from now on probably look a bit different with the start of Ellie in Oils. As an artist you can never say “oh I know this”, because that day you are lost for ever. An artist always has to “grow as a painter” and the day that stops you are in trouble. I’m sure all painters have to grow in experience all their lives.

Today when I checked my SERPs like a do every now and then I didn’t believe my eyes! Finally the day came what I have been waiting for more than 1 year. I’m finally out from the Google filter!!!!!

Yesterday evening I launched my new web site. It looks a bit different, brighter and cooler. I used a different theme colour for this site. I have one new funny thing on my site: Photo of the week and I will be adding a new photo each Wednesday! My dogs are really fun and something is happening around them all the time, thought I want to share that with all of you somehow.I added some new texts to my website also, about my pet portraits as memorials and gifts to my index. More new things are on the way, but that will take some time to complete. I will add free html templates for downloading on my free stuff section which will include a css file. There will be three different themes to choose from. I will update my e-cards, wallpapers and screensavers.

I will create a presentation CD about myself and the work I’m doing, that flash file will also be on my website. It will include many interesting things but I’m not telling more… hehe

 A memorial to my first dog Cindy will be added to section “me and my pets” within next days. Its funny, this site is in a way dedicated to her but with no memorial.

 So check back every now and then, many interesting things are on the way!

Now back to work… busy I am indeed
