Pet Portraits in oil - Tervueren Glinka

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

The painting of Glinka is finally completed and was dry enough today for me to scan. The problem with black is that it shines allot before it’s dry, that doesn’t look good when scanned. I rather wait and get it right then hurry it all. When the portrait is sent to the client I will never be able to scan it again and I really want to have my scanned portraits beautiful to show in the online gallery for as long as I want. So here she is:

Now back to work….

Pet Portrait of Tervueren - step5

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I decided to paint one more layer to the Tervueren female Glinka before adding any details. So this is how the portrait looks right now. It will change quite a bit before it’s completed though. I’m hoping the paint will dry soon enough for me to complete the portrait this week. I’m still thinking about which frame to choose for Glinka’s portrait, but I’m almost sure about which one would be suitable.

Portrait of my son Daniel and my Tervueren Raider

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Finally I took the time to create an oil painting for my self. It is a big oil painting on stretched canvas of my son Daniel and my Tervueren male Raider. It is hard to create something for your self when there is too much work that needs to be done, with all commissions waiting. Well, I’m proud of this painting and I will take it to a professional framer as soon as I will have the time.

I’m also working on a brand new web site for pet-art.net with lots of new stuff included. I’m doing that slowly between other works. I’m not in a hurry, so why not take it slowly?  I’m also still creating the digital book illustrations about a cat and a rabbit and those needs to be completed soon. It is a good thing I’m creating those digitally, because things need to be edited many times. Well, they need to be perfect, right? When they are printed, there’s no turning back.
