Pet Portraits in Oil of Doberman Hunter - Final Scan

So the portrait of Doberman Hunter is finally finished and I’m posting the Final scan and a close-up of him today. The reference photo was on the edge of being in to poor quality for a painting, but the client wanted the portrait so much so I decided to go for it. The background wasn’t  originally in the photo, that was added when I created the photo montage before I started to paint. When it comes to colors and light I achieved what I wanted and I’m happy with the result so I’m hoping the client will be happy too. The portrait is in size 38 x 47cm.

Now I will take my car to the art supply store and buy some canvas to stretch. I will start with a big painting of a boy and a dog. I’m really looking forward to this one, because the reference photos are great. I will of course also continue with the watercolor paintings of Dodger and Adrian later today. I’m hoping to post next stages of at least one tomorrow.

Welcome to my blog!

    Portrait Artist and painter

In my work in progress blog everyone can follow their portrait from the a simple sketch to a completed Pet, Family Portrait or Print. See also my latest completed website designs, logos and illustrations. If someone ordered a portrait, they are able to ask questions and make suggestions as I'm painting it. This benefit is of great value to me and my clients because they are constantly updated and it gives them a peace of mind.
