Horse portraits in oils – Painting of Girl and Horse

I finally completed the painting of Agnes and Spice Boy yesterday. Now it hangs in my living room and drying. In Monday I will take the painting to my local framer before I send it as soon its dry enough. The panting is actually very small, the girls face in only 2 cm big (small ) so it was a challenge to paint her and I had to buy the smallest brush I could find for the small details. I hope it looks like Agnes, anyway I will find out soon enough .

The background is simplified and created in warmer colors then the actual reference photograph to make the girl and horse stand out. I didn’t want to create even simpler backgrounds for this panting, it looks natural for me this way.

Depth and light is the most important factor in my paintings and I believe this painting shows what its all about.
