Framed Husky Painting from the Donation day

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Yesterday I got an email from the Principal of The Hopper Middle School in Houston, Texas with many photographs from the donation day. It is Pam and George Hopper along with the framed painting. They both look very stylish and proud people. The oil painting is 60 x 81xm in size and it’s a “Combination Portrait”. Thanks Robert for the photos I have been waiting for son long.

Horse Portraits in Colored Pencils

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

I have uploaded the final scans of Albin and Nicke to my work in progress pages some days ago but I forgot to upload post the images to my blog. The colored pencils drawing is in size A2, a pretty big portrait and it took around 60 hours to complete. Its very time consuming to draw a portrait colored pencils because there are so many layers of colors to add, to achieve the perfect hues and depth. I do love to draw in colored pencils though, because the result is always very rewarding. See the portrait below along with close-ups of the two portraits.

Step 6 in colored pencil

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Here is step 6 of the two horses in colored pencil. I’m finished with the portrait, but I didn’t have time to scan it today. Hopefully I will do it tomorrow. The drawing looks pretty nice.

Step 5 of Horse portraits in Colored Pencil

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I’m finally uploading the five of Albin and Nicke, the two horses in Colored pencils. I have also almost finished step 6 which I probably will upload tomorrow. The reason it takes so long is that I’m working with my future plans at the same time and sometimes I get a little bit too much into what I’m working with which is a downside because I tend to exaggerate with my working hours, especially when I’m working with something on the computer and the time just fly away. When I paint or draw I do the same. It’s better to leave a drawing or painting aside and let it rest a while because at the end you can start see in double.
