My latest watercolor is a combination portrait of horse Rock Star. Rock Star is a special little boy and he is 1 year old. He is a very small horse of breed Miniature horse colt. It is the first time I painted such a horse. Well, the reference photos were very small, but it turned out good anyway. The owner loved it and that makes me happy. This is a small watercolor in size 21 x 29cm.

The watercolors are a medium that can be painted loose or detailed and it still looks nice. I prefer to paint backgrounds loose and the actual portrait detailed. So if someone doesn’t have good photos it’s usually the medium I’m offering to them. But some just love watercolors and they commission a watercolor portrait right away.
