Working and working…

Some time ago I painted a big watercolor painting with three dogs: two Airedale terriers and Schnauzer, their names are Jenny, Nisse and Ben. I just love the outcome of this portrait and their owner just loved it! Well, she was the first client who lived so near that she could come and get the painting at my home.

I do have two more commissions coming up with watercolors, one painting with two beautiful cats and one with four dogs! I just love painting with watercolors, somehow I’m very calm when painting these. Watercolors are very much loved by Swedish people.

I also painted a new Oil Painting for Laura in Estonia with three dogs: Dachshund, Labrador and German shepherd. Their names are Previ, Largo and Brandy. I of course love this painting and it was really hardly awaited by Laura and finally finished!

The colored Pencil Drawing with head study of the horse was finished yesterday. This drawing wasn’t commissioned work; I drew it for my online gallery. I do not have that many good colored pencil drawings to show, so I will have to draw more of them at a later stage.

Many new commissions are coming up, one of them are a female mix named Tequila. The portrait will be in Oils and I will start with that painting very soon. The owner Katja has the same name as me; it’s really fun because my name is rare here in Sweden. I also do have to finish the Border terrier standing at Swedish coast this week. I also have two huge projects coming up so I have only a few places left for Christmas commissions! I’m starting to take commissions for January with my new prices.

It’s really fun, so much work already! Somehow I don’t understand how people find me since my page is not in Google yet. My domain is a little more then 1 year old and I’m on my way getting pr4! Well, that is just the beginning…

Until next time…

    hi
Love your work you are now saved to my favourites. I have recently taken up painting not sure what medium to use trying everything. Sorry let me introduce myself my name is chris shayler and i live in yorkshire england i am 53 and recently retired from work due to ill health but i have always had a love of art and decided to have a go. I do get a finished product but can see lots of room for improvement. I am teaching myself as i go along hopefully by the time i am 70 i might be half as good as you. Just trying to do a black labrador i have drawn it out and marked where the lights and darks go do i just block them in and let the oils dry or do i try to blend them wet on wet.
Enough about my painting problems i think your work is excellent and now i have found your web page i look forward to seeing your. finished pictures if you have any step by step tips i would be gratefull
    kind regards
    chris

    Hi Chris

Thank you for your nice words about my work :) I’m currently working on articles, step by step on this section of my web site: http://www.pet-art.net/learn-how-to-paint-pet-portraits.htm

I got many emails from artists thanking me for the articles already done but I will sure add more of them in time. Hope you may find it useful :) You can also look at the work in progress section and see how I’m painting and drawing in four steps.

    Sincerely,
    Katja
