On the First step of the progress I’m trying to find the right angles with help of a pencil. I’m measuring with the pencil from a distance of the canvas. I squint with my eyes to see angles easier. After I’m finished with the pencil I start painting the animal as a simple sketch with thin dark oils.

On the second step of the Painting I’m filling out all the white canvas in the background with a layer of oil colours. I try not to add too much paint though, since more layers will be added to the background at a later stage to achieve a wonderful light in the painting along with the subject.

Step three of the process I’m filling out rest of the white canvas and add one more layer to the background. There is usually no good light in the artwork and no details yet but already from early stage I’m trying to achieve at least some light at the same time as I exaggerate the colours a bit.

After I left the Painting to dry I started to add more details to the subject and also added more paint to the background. I lightened some areas and darkened others. Now I don’t want to wait until it dries before I start with the fourth layer, I rather work with "open colours".
