My name is Ann Åsberg, I live in Sweden in a small town near Stockholm. I have had dogs all my grown up life. I love taking walks in the Swedish nature + go on walking tours in the Swedish mountains and the dogs are my walking friends.
I have been thinking of having a Portrait of my dogs for a long time, and when I found Katjas web site and talked to her on the phone I finally commissioned a Painting.. Katja is very careful about how the photographs looks like, so I took at least 200 digital Photographs of my black Pumi and the Perro.
The white Pumi has been gone for about 5 years now, so I didn’t have any digital photos of her. I sent away what I had by snail mail to Katja. She has done a wonderful job with the white Pumi, because she got her special expression. When I look at the painting does it feel like I still have all three dogs left around me, even if I only have two left now. The black Pumi has the right fur and deep dark brown eyes with perfect light. The Perro has the right spots around her eyes and the dog in general has her happy and mischievous expression. All three dogs has a really realistic nose, so people who look at the painting want to touch the soggy nose. How lucky I am that I found Katja who was able to make my dogs live for ever!
