Pet portrait - Horses Albin and Nicke

Horse portraits in colored pencils - Albin and Nicke

Colored pencil drawing of two horses - Albin and Nicke

Albin (the red Chestnut) is a big brother to Nicke (the dark brownish one). Nickes name is really Nikodemus, but is always called Nicke. My parents bred them both and I have had Albin for 15 years, he is 18 year old now. I have had Nicke for 7 years and he is now 15 years old. They are both Swedish half breeds and geldings. They are pleasant, nice, and very easy going, positive and enterprising, they are very different in their ways in general! I ride dressage on both and I have competed allot with Albin, it went really well for us. He is very suitable for competitions. He doesn’t get anxious or nervous when we are away, if anything, the other way around. He gets cocky, secure and likes to show him self of.

They are really big and little bother in their ways. Albin (the Chestnut) the big brother is born as a pack leader, secure, serious, hard working, very energetic, makes it on his on very well, doesn’t need anyone, but on the same time very kind, nice and actually polite, if you can say that about a horse. He is calm, secure and kind as a pack leader and he loves foals very much! He takes very good care of the foals and no other horse is allowed to be ugly with them. Albin is little superior, it is up to him to accept new people; it’s not possible to suck up to him. Nicke, the brown little brother is very social, loves all people, loves to get mothered with on and wants to get apprehended. But I love them both despite their differences.
