This is a big sepia sketch with hard pastels on velour paper which I drew in year 2010. I used the velour paper which I had left from the first time I started painting with pastels. The reason why I used velour is because I wanted the paper texture to show through the sketch. The pastel is a portrait of my father (Vlado Turnsek) who is a professional musician; guitarist, singer, composer and producer. It took 16 hours to create the sketch of my father playing his guitar with the band on a Blues Festival here in Sweden. The reference photo I used was from a photograph I took at the location. It was a gift from me for his 60th birthday, because I know how much he loves special gift like this. I got some special inspiration at the time I created this pastel, tha'ts probably visible in the outcome.
