Pet Portrait Information

Two sweet cats; Lucky and Mimi were painted in oils on cotton canvas in year 2006. I found this absolutely fabulous photo on Flickr and I just had to ask the photographer Taiyu Chen if I could use the photo as reference for an oil portrait. I think I was a bit lucky to achieve such nice lights, colors and details at the time I painted these two kittens. It was in beginning of my professional career as a pet portrait artist and was learning to paint realistically. This painting will always have a special place in my home. It is framed with a lovely, simple golden moulding.
