Pet Portrait Commission Info

This drawing was commissioned by a client in Denmark. It is a full-body portrait of "Pina" running on a meadow. She is a cute little French Bulldog. I drew a simple background with more grass showing underneath Pina, especially where the shadow is.

The client chose to have the beautiful drawing framed by my local framer and you will be able to view the final result here soon.

The Reference Photograph of "Pina"

I got some really nice photos from Christina to work from and we ended up in choosing this one as reference for the pencil full-body portrait of Pina. I lightened up and erased parts of the background to make Pina stand out more. I also converted the mock-up to black and white so that Christina could see what I wanted to achieve.

Pet Portrait in Progress

Below you can view a few work in progress photos of this portrait. It is important for me that you understand the painting process at the same as you have a full input the entire time, that is why I’m prepared to spend some extra time in order to keep you regularly updated. I have had this feature for many years, even though I uploaded the progress images to a static html page at first. Now I use my portraits in blog for this exciting feature. If you do not wish to share your painting’s progress or the completed painting with the world, I can send you the progress images by email. Several clients decided to do this, especially famous ones.
