I think it is truly magnificent - better than I could ever have hoped for - thank you so very much!

Sabre - The German shepherd. He is the old gentlemen of the three - very gentle, and amazingly loyal to my partner (she has had him ten years and known me just 2!). He loves to be scratched under his chin and has a fascination with itching his nose by rubbing it vigorously between your legs - just when you are not expecting it! He is extremely gentle, and enjoys play-fighting with Arran. Unfortunately, he is now getting old (at almost 12) and he is wracked with arthritis and has a very weak back end - hence the reason for the portrait - as a lasting memento.
Arran - The Yellow Lab. Like all Lab's, Arrans nose is king! A picnic is not safe if Arran is about. He loves nothing better than chasing rabbits and digging! He is very well built for a lab, about 5 or 6 years old now. His back legs are not fantastic
- he has a calcium deficiency from birth, which gives rise to weak joints. He loves to play (when not digging) and bounces up and down for attention. Whilst he is second in the pack, he is gentle and mild mannered with all - but is very excitable!
Spot - The Border Collie. Spot is my dog, and joined the others just a couple of years ago. He is a farm reject - he will not work sheep, and is in fact quite scared of them! He is persistent in his pursuit of either a Frisbee or a ball, and will happily play fetch for hours on end, although he is not a typical intelligent collie - regularly forgetting to let go of the ball to be thrown again! He is very well behaved, although limited in commands that he follows, and very loyal to me. He and Arran get on famously, but his relationship with Sabre is less clear - Spot respects him as top dog and tends to keep his playing to Arran. |
